THE BEACH

Well I have now returned from a week away. I am trying to catch up on my sleep from Church camp.

Anyways, I am glad to see how many people voted for the beach. That is exactly what I was hoping would happen. Right now we are in the midst of trying to work out all these wonderful details surrounding the rehearsal and the dinner. It has to deal with when we believe people can get into town and when the church will allow us in to start our rehearsal.

The good news for you is that anyone who is in the wedding party will probably get a chance to go to the beach. I just couldn't think of trying to bring all of yall down to Savannah and not heading out to the sand and waves. It might not be for hours but even an hour or so would be plenty of fun.

We could always look back and remember the fun times we spent with yall on the beach. I think it would be a blast. The girls can then head and do their girly things while the guys could head on and do the MANLY things.

O and guys, i am trying to work out some awesome details for Thursday and Friday. I know that where there is guys and water there is a need for Jet skis (i am trying to find either a rental place or some people that could loan them to us to borrow. I will give out more details when I figure them out)

Look for a new poll soon by the way.

Inspiration

I've had a good amount of free time this week to think of wedding details, so I started looking at invitations.  Of course, the ones I like are all expensive... duh.  If they're inexpensive, it means you print and assemble everything yourself.  I'm not sure that I want to do that for the estimated 250 guests we're inviting!

So I've been thinking - why not find a SCAD student who needs some portfolio work?  They could come up with a custom design.  Then I guess we could find someone to print them for us.  I wonder how it all actually works.

What do you think?

Also, I can foresee an obsession with Etsy.  If you haven't gone and shopped, go.  www.etsy.com

I lasted a week!

So, today is a bank holiday in Ireland, meaning no class!  Since I had such a busy weekend (check out the details at ssstravels.blogspot.com), I decided to just stay in today and get my readings done for class this week and grocery shop and stuff like that.  Well, it's been a long day and I'm bored and so I've started looking at wedding stuff.  Silly me for thinking I could go the whole trip without planning something!

Mom and Dad and I are working right now on a photographer, at least for engagement photos.  Seth will be in town for my birthday and we're trying to get as much done that week as we can for the wedding, including pictures.  Hey, I figure they can also be 21st birthday pictures!!!  Good stuff.  Anyway, every once in a while on my bus or in a town I'll see a wedding dress store and I really want to go in, but I don't think that I should.  That'd be kind of silly.  So I won't, but I want to!

I think I'm going to work on karaoke songs.  I have no idea if that form of entertainment is even what we'll use, but it's worth a shot.  I know many of you have your doubts about karaoke at a wedding, and rightfully so.  I can imagine tackiness to the extreme.  However, hear me out.  You guys - our friends - are majority musical.  You would be doing the entertaining.  Those of you who are not get to be entertained!  I still have my doubts and will have to do some thinking, but I think as long as the playlist is classy and romantic, the effect I'm hoping to achieve could actually happen.  Hmm....

I don't think I ever told the blogosphere this info, but I've found my bridesmaids' dresses.  I found them actually the first night Mom and Dad and I looked, at the first store.  I believe it was the 2nd dress :)  I kept quiet about them because I have changed my mind about this wedding stuff so many times that I didn't want to change my mind again, but it's been almost 3 weeks since I found them, and I still love them.  You don't get to see them till the wedding though :)  Sheesh, my bridesmaids haven't even seen them!  They will soon, though; hopefully all of them will be able to visit Savannah to be fitted in person.

I guess I should go get homework done... yeah right...

Sad Week

I will be gone this week with very little internet connection. This means that there is not a great chance that I will be posting or be able to update the poll until Friday or Saturday.

Tell us if you think of something exciting that we should try to include in our wedding plans as we will really start planning here soon (when Shelley gets back into America)

Have a good week and I will talk to yall soon.

Rehearsal Entertainment

I have come up with a fabulous idea that I must first pass by Shelley and see if she agrees.

I think that going to the beach together as a wedding party could be fun and then separating for the night, but we shall see what yall think.

Once I talk to Shelley I will come back with some more information, but for the poll:

The Beach: Eat some good food and then go as a wedding party and enjoy the waves
Comedian: Someone tell jokes as we eat
Guitar: Someone can play guitar and sing as we eat
Movie: It was the only other thing I can think of but eat and watch a movie.

I think the beach is the best because how can we invite people to Savannah and not allow them to enjoy the beach.

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

Karaoke has officially won so I better hear this song. If we choose karaoke as the form of entertainment we will hand pick our songs that you can choose to sing. We will want upbeat songs that are fun or about love.

Respond with your favorite non-cyrus or gaga song and we will try our best to include it into the festivities.

Thanks guys
